ORDINANCE ~ 88- 4 CITY OF RA~EY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 170. known as the Planning, Subdivision and Signs Chapter of Chapter 170. of the city Code. AN ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 170.06 to the city Code and repealing Section 170.035F of the city Code and repealing Ordinance 83-13. The city of Ramsey ordains: SECTION 1. AMENDPIENT. Chapter 170.06 of the City Code is amended as follows: 170.06 PARK AND OPEN SPACE DEDICATION 170.061 PURPOSE The purposes of this section are to provide funds which the City shall dedicate and use only for the acquisition of parks, playgrounds, trails, and/or open space, as'well as provide a means for the City to acquire a reasonable portion of each new subdivision for public use as parks, playgrounds, trails and/or open space. 170.062 LAND DEDICATION In all new residential or commercial subdivisions, ten percent (10%) of the gross area subdivided shall be dedicated to the public for public use as parks, playgrounds, trails and/or .open space, in all new industrial subdivisions, five percent (5%) of the gross area subdivided shall be dedicated to the public for public use as parks, playgrounds, trails and/ct open space. Along with the dedication required in this section, additional land within the gross area subdivided may be re.un/ired to be dedicated to the public for public use as sto_~m water holding areas or ponds. No area may be dedicated for public use until written findings and recommendations regarding the proposed dedications have been made by the Planning Co~.ission end presented to the City Council shall not approve the dedication of any areas for public use unless it dete_--mines that such areas for public use are suitable and needed for the public health, safety, convenience and/or general welfare of the City, as a result cf approval cf the subdivision.
