Put another <br />way, will the increased traffic mean sealcoafing or repairing cra?ks and potholc~ more often? <br />The corners of 171s~ and Zeolite area already getting worn away duc to traffi:~ cutting the <br />corners too close,,.";,~ '~' eo~n=o ' - too fast around the corners. This problem will only be <br />compounded with more traffic on the streets. <br /> <br />The paint we are :.D'ing to make is this, we are not happy with the proposed development <br />~iven the present street systems, if there are no additional streets buil~ or if Bison Street is <br />not improved from it's present gravel surface, 171st Avenue to Zeolite to 169th will <br />become a through street not only for the present i~omeowners but future homeowners along <br />Bison as well. \Ve think that residential streets should be just that, residential streets, not a <br />hub between a neighborhood and a major roadway with our neighborhood being caugh~ in <br />increased traffic to a major roadway without compromising our neighborhood in the <br />process. <br /> <br />Some ideas we have for achieving this goal are: <br /> <br />1. Improve the surface of Bison Street and close 171st Avenue N.W. <br /> <br />Put in another East-West street linking the new neighborhood to a major south <br />roadway. <br /> <br />At the yen, least, there should be a stop sign up on 171st and Zeolite if nothing else <br />is done. /5resent traffic along Zeolite moves at a pretty good clip as it is and with <br />more traffic coming onto Zeolite from 171st, with no traffic controls, it is an <br />accident waiting to happen. <br /> <br />In conclusion, we have no problems with more homes being built. We realize that this area <br />is growing rapidly, it is a sign of the times. We do not think it is reasonable, however, to <br />ask us to lower our qualiD, of life in our neighborhood by putting up with large increases in <br />n-azTic when there are alternatives to this potential problem. <br /> <br />We hope you will take into consideration what we have stated.
