PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
PUBLIC HEARING
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

The Ramsey Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday,
May 2, 1989 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey,
Minnesota regarding lx~. Robert Wojcik and Mr. Louis Wojcik's request for a conditional
use permit to expand Ramsey Auto Sales.

Members Present:

Mr. Gerald Zimmerman, Chairman
Mr. Terry Hendriksen
Mr. Charles La.Due
Mr. Michael Terry

Also Present:

Community Development Director Mark Banwart
Mr. Merland Otto/Hakanson Anderson Associates

Members Absent:

Mr. Roy Shumway
Mr. Jim Holm

CALL TO ORDER

Chairman Zimmerman called the public hearing to order at 7:50 p.m.

CITIZEN INPUT

Mr. Louis Wojcik was present.

Dr. Hartman - Stated that he is part owner of the Anoka Pet Hospital and he is concerned
with the proposed expansion of Ramsey Autos adjacent to his business because of the way
in which the Wojcik's operated their business when they were located on the east side of
Cty. Rd. #56. The Wojcik's have an invento~ of mostly low quality cars; they are
encroaching on the lot for which they have not ),et received approval for expansion.
Another problem is that during off business hours, the Wojcik block the enu-ances to their
car lot; off hours customers park in the Hws,. gl0 right-of-way or the Anoka West Pet
Hospital park/ng lot and walk over to the car lot. If the expansion is allowed, the car lot
should be upg-raded to presentable. Many of the cars on the lot are not oparable. Inquired
as to how the Wojcik's can expand onto the third lot prior to obtaining approval.

Ms. Frolik explained that the Wojcik's have sold their property on the east side of Cry. Rd.
#56 to Holiday and it must be vacated; when approached by Louis Wojcik for a conditional
use permit to expand the lot on the west side of #56, she gave verbal approval to store the
cars on the subject lot until the City makes a determination on the request for rue conditional
use permit~

Commissioner Hendriksen expressed concern with the impact to area drainage caused by
the additional development.

Planning & Zoning Public Heating'lay 2, 1989
Page i of 2
