• The Fire Department: o Notable Responses • 4/4- Illegal burn in the 20100 block of St Francis Blvd. Duty Officer arrived to find fire had spread to adjoining tall grass. Additional units dispatched and fire was extinguished. • 4/5- Explosion heard in the 16000 block of Iodine. Unit arrived, unable to locate any problem but continued to receive multiple reports of explosion heard /felt by residents. After further investigation and communications with dispatch, the explosion took place at Alter Recycling in Anoka. A propane tank had ruptured. • 4/7- P.I. accident in the 5300 block of Norris Lake Road. Unit arrived to find a passenger car on its roof with the driver breathing but unresponsive. Crews extricated the patient from the vehicle and after becoming stabilized in the ambulance, was flown by air care helicopter to hospital. • 4/10- Grass fire reported at the intersection of Hwy 47 and Cleary Road. Fire was actually found north on Cleary Rd. Resident was burning off tall grass with torch. Homeowner was advised of burning regulations. o Fire Administration • Attended meeting on request to hold MN Twins tailgating party in Municipal parking ramp. • Attended the State Fire Marshal Conference • There was nothing out of the ordinary for Public Works duties this week other than digging out from under a five -plus inch snow storm in April! You gotta love Minnesota! Social Hour /cash bar begins at 5:30 p.m., dinner and introductions at 6:00 p.m. Presentations by Bob Obermeyer, Barr Engineering and Jamie Schurbon, Anoka County Conservation District will begin at 7:00 p.m., followed by a discussion of the Anoka Cam. Adjournment is expected at approximately 8:00 p.m. Dinner choices include chicken breast or top sirloin steak. If you are interested in attending, please let Jo know as soon as possible.
