Ms. Duckor summarized the planning expectations /outcomes; tangible outcomes such as a
uniform and agreed -to direction, well - defined goals that are obtainable, measurable, and within
budget, clear expectations between staff and the City Council and more.
The principles of engagement were once again reviewed and noted that some had been added to
this document based upon discussion at the last session.
The lessons learned from the past that came out of last week's discussion had been summarized.
Ms. Duckor went over those with the group and asked that the group agreed she had captured
everything.
The group reviewed an example of guiding principles — such as taking personal ownership for
the success of the City of Ramsey, avoiding personal agenda and department turf protection,
operating with clear roles, responsibilities, authority and accountability, etc.
An example of a Code of Conduct was distributed and talked about. Staff also reviewed the list
of constituencies — internal and external to make sure all were listed that were discussed.
Ms. Duckor pointed out that a glossary of strategic planning and its terms were included in the
handouts.
Staff will look at the week of February 19 to schedule the next strategic planning session.
5.
