CC Regular Session 4. 5. <br />Meeting Date: 05/14/2013 <br />By: Diana Lund, Finance <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Approval For Exemption for a Gambling License for Ramsey Fire Relief Association <br />Background: <br />The attached application is from the Ramsey Fire Relief Association for exemption from a lawful gambling license <br />to hold a fund-raising raffle on October 12, 2013 at Ramsey Fire Station #1. <br />The Ramsey Fire Relief Association meets all of the requirements which allow them to remain exempt from <br />licensing, primarily from the standpoint that commodities to be raffled are valued at less than $12,000. <br />Approval requires nothing more than a motion followed by a letter to the Gambling Control Board, while if the <br />request is denied, a formal resolution for denial would need to be prepared and submitted to the Gambling Control <br />Board. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends that City Council approve the exemption from a lawful gambling license for the Ramsey Fire <br />Relief Association to hold a raffle at Fire Station #1 on October 1, 2013. <br />Council Action: <br />Motion to recommend City Council approve the exemption from a lawful gambling license for the Ramsey Fire <br />Relief Association to hold a raffle at Fire Station #1 on October 1, 2013 and authorize staff to submit a letter to the <br />Gambling Control Board stating approval. <br />Attachments <br />Exemption Permit - Ramsey Fire Relief Association <br />Form Review <br />Inbox Reviewed By Date <br />Kurt Ulrich Kurt Ulrich 05/09/2013 10:30 AM <br />Form Started By: Diana Lund Started On: 04/24/2013 02:07 PM <br />Final Approval Date: 05/09/2013 <br />
