Raatikka recalled that as a condition of the MUSA expansion, Metro Council is requiring that <br />the City update it's sewage disposal ordinance to prohibit the use of seepage pits within the City <br />and communal drainfieids within the MUSA. Council inu'oduced the ordinance amendment on <br />Jul,,, 11, 1989. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and secondM by Councilmember Cich to adopt Ordinance #89- <br />16 which amends the subsection pertaining to alternative treatment systems of Section 150.0! of <br />the Ramsev City Code; known aq the Sewage Disposal System Chapter of the City Code. <br /> <br />Fmq. her Discussion: Councilmember DeLuca inquired as to what impact this ordinance will have <br />on systems that curremlv do nol meet the standards. Mr. Goodrich replied that substandard system <br />would be allowed to continue; upon their repair or replacement, they would have to meet <br />standards. Councilmember DeLuca inquired if this ordinance will impact the system used at the <br />mobile home park. Mr. Goo&'-ich stated that the ordinance prohibits communal drainfields and he <br />doesn't b:iive the mobile park has one. Councilmember DeLuca requested that City Staff provide <br />confimmtion at the next Council meeting that the objective of Ordinance #89-16 is to address new <br />systems. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
