Identify new areas for parks. <br /> <br />Those present proceeded to review the draft park dedication ordinance (see attachment) and <br />comment on the following sections as noted: <br /> <br />170.061 Purpose- <br /> <br />Determine the amount of park land available in Ramsey including regional, county and <br />school recreational areas and review the standard of 15 acres/1000 population based on that <br />additional acreage. Staff was asked to provide supporting documentation for the 15 acres <br />of park land/1000 population standard. Staff to determine if commercial recreational <br />facilities reduce the overall park needs of the City. Generate a list of vacant, platted lots in <br />Ramsey. <br /> <br />170.062 Residential Park Land Dedication - <br /> <br />Review, in terms of equity, the basing of park land dedication on gross versus buildable <br />acreage. Add language to explicitly indicate park land dedication requirements for <br />resubdivisions. Amend the park land dedication schedule to indicate a maximum cap to <br />park land dedication. Review the park land dedication schedule to determine whether or <br />not the urban area is providing for an appropriate amount of park land considering that <br />density versus the density in a rural area. <br /> <br />170.063 Industrial/Commercial Park Land Dedication - <br /> <br />Reducing park land dedication on industrial/commercial land from .10% to 5% is up for <br />discussion. Add language to clarify park land dedication requirements for residential uses <br />in commercial/industrial zones. Add language to clarify that park land dedication is to <br />following Council approval of plat but prior to recording the plat. <br /> <br />170.064 Standards For Accepting Dedication Of Land For Public Park Purposes - <br /> <br />Item F should clearly state that only useable, developable land will be accepted for park <br />purposes. <br /> <br />170.065 Cash Payment- <br /> <br />In the first paragraph, the cash payment required of commerciaI/industfial developments for <br />park dedication should be consistent with the percentage of land dedication that will be <br />required in 170.063. <br /> <br />City Council/Planning & Zoning/Park & Recreation <br />February 22, 1989 <br /> Page 4 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
