Case #1 <br /> <br /> REVIEW SKETCIt PLAN FOR HOLASEK ADDITION <br />By: Mark S. Banwart, Community Development Director <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On February 1, 1989, the City received application for Holasek's Addition. The proposed <br />subdivision consists of one block with two lots. The property is located East of Nowthen <br />Boulevard and South of 153rd Avenue Northwest. The land abuts the Ramsey Municipal Center <br />on the North. The area is zoned B-1 Business District and has a total area of approximately 25.9 <br />acres, more or less. For ],,our information, the following items are enclosed: <br /> <br />Site location map <br />Proposed subdivision <br />City Engineer's review (available at meeting) <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />The United Power Association (UPA) has acquired approximately 1.5 acres of land in the <br />Northeast comer of the proposed addition. The UPA has received site plan approval and is <br />currently constructing a substation at this location. <br /> <br />On January 24, 1989, a motion was made, seconded and carried to direct City Staff to research the <br />feasibility and cost of acquisition of property North and adjacent to the Ramsey Municipal Center. <br />On January 25, 1989, City Staff met with Steve and Gloria Holasek and the UPA to explore the <br />possibility of land acquisition. <br /> <br />Recommendations: <br /> <br />Staff recommends sketch plan approval of Holasek's Addition. Staff recommends that in the <br />event the City acquires Lot 2, Block 1 of Holasek's Addition for City purposes (e.g., relocation of <br />Public Works facility, access to 153rd Avenue Northwest for Police and Fire in,ess and e~ess, <br />Community Activity Center - indoor swimming pool, hockey rink, etc.,); the City transfer an <br />amount of funds equivalent to 10% of cash value to the Park Dedication Fund.
