4. Mississippi River Bridge Crossing: <br /> <br />As you may be aware, the Ramsey Economic Development Commission is actively involved in <br />promoting the possibility of a Ramsey/Dayton Mississippi River Bridge Crossing. Thus far, the <br />following has occurred: <br /> <br />A joint request by the Mayors of Ramsey and Dayton requesting endorsement of <br />the Northern Mayor's Association in support of the Bridge Crossing. <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />David Hartley, City Administrator, has been appointed as head of the North <br />Mayor's Association Transportation Advisory Board. <br /> <br />The City of Dayton has amended their Comprehensive Plan to facilitate the <br />Bridge Crossing. <br /> <br />The Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce published information regarding <br />the Dayton/Ramsey Bridge and received 62 of 63 responses in favor of <br />such a crossing and also accepted a motion to support the Ramsey/Dayton <br />Mississippi River Bridge Crossing. <br /> <br />Similar requests of the Anoka County Chamber of Commerce and other <br />similar organizations is currently under way. The City of Champlin has <br />stated that its City Council is adamantly against a river bridge crossing from <br />Coon Rapids to Champlin and is therefore extremely supportive of the <br />Ramsey/Dayton Mississippi River Bridge Crossing. <br /> <br />5. Planning and Law Seminar (see enclosure): <br /> <br />On Wednesday, April 5, 1989 at 7:30 p.m. at the Brooklyn Park Community Activity Center <br />located at 5600 - 85th Avenue North, there will be a Planning and Law Seminar sponsored by the <br />1989 Minnesota APA/MPA Conference. All members of the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />should plan on attending.
