Absent: Chairman Lichter. <br /> <br />.NOTE CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />The Commission noted the following City Council meeting minutes: <br /> <br />1 ) City Council regular meeting minutes dated November 15, 1988. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />City Council continuation of November 15, 1988 meeting minutes dated November 16, <br />1988. <br /> <br />3 ) City Council regular meeting minutes dated November 29, 1988. <br /> <br />4 ) City Council regular meeting minutes dated December 13, 1988. <br /> <br />5 ) city Council regular meeting minutes dated December 27, 1988. <br /> <br />NOTE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMIS~;1ON MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />Joint City Council, Planning and Zoning and Economic Development commission special <br />meeting minutes dated December 5, 1988. <br /> <br />2 ) Planning and Zoning Commission regular meeting minutes dated December 6, 1988. <br /> <br />.COMMISSION BI.I.~ tN ~SS <br /> <br />Case ~-1 Mississip.pi Trail Corridor Update. <br /> <br />Mark Banwart told the Commission that EQB was happy with the Critical River ordinance but <br />that Metro Council has not approved it yet. City staff will be meeting with some of the agencies <br />to see what can be done to get the trail system approved. He also told the Commission that the <br />trail will go from Anoka to Elk River on the south side of Highway 10. <br /> <br />Commission Shumway asked if in anticipation of the new bridge if we should not put a trail along <br />the River were the proposed road will go. <br /> <br />Merland Otto told the Commission that in the right-of-way we will get about 50 feet going to 75 <br />feet to Alpaca. In Alpaca we will have two trails, one on each side of the road, one for <br />pedestrians and bikers and the other for horses. On the other side of Alpaca the two trails will <br />merge into a 30 foot single tread way. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Shumway and seconded by Commissioner Prall to have the trail system <br />on the western most edge of Riverside West and to keep a minimum tread way, with said width <br />being 75 feet rural and 35 feet urban. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
