MERLAND O'FFO <br />FROM: SANDRA ASHLEY <br />DATE: JULY 24, 1989 <br />RE: 1990 PARKS BUDGET <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />On November 3, 1982, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 82-158 which contained a <br />financial commitment for park improvements if Federal Cartridge gifted approximately 45 <br />acres of unimproved land to the City of Ramsey for the purpose of a park. This Resolution <br />specifically stated: <br /> <br />"That the City intends to finance the park improvement over the ten year period <br />by expending $72,000 per year on the development plan..." <br /> <br />Resolution No. 83-49 accepted the park land donated by Federal Cartridge on April 7, 1983. <br />This park is known as Central Park. <br /> <br />The City's capital outlay for Central Park as detailed in our fixed asset records is as follows: <br /> <br /> Expenditure <br />Yea~ Description Amount <br /> <br /> Ballfields, parking, skating <br />1983 rink $ 73,035 <br /> <br />1984 Well and irrigation system $ 67,936 <br />1 985 Bleachers and lights $ 10,231 <br />1 9 8 6 Lights and timbers $ 78,910 <br />1 987 None $ -0- <br /> <br /> Warming house and park <br />1 988 center building $31 4,400 <br /> <br />TOTAL $544,512 <br /> <br />1983-1988 <br /> <br />Expenditures for the first six years averaged $90,752 per year; over the next four years, an <br />additional $176,000 or an average of $44,000 per year in expenditures will be required. <br /> <br />There was an addendum to Resolution No. 82-158 that showed the layout of the proposed <br />improvements.
