Case #5:

NAMING OF RAMSEY MUNICIPAL PARKS
By: Mark S. Banwart, Community Development Director

Background:

In drafting the RAMSEY RESIDENT'S GUIDE, it has come to our attention that a number of
designated City properties for park purposes are not named. The referencing of Municipal
properties for park purposes with a named park would be beneficial for the City and it's
residents alike. In the future, it would seem reasonable that more community education and
recreation programs will use these properties as they are developed as parks. For your
information, attached is a listing of twenty-five (25) Municipal properties which are intended
to be developed as parks.

Observations:

On October 12, 1989, the Ramsey Park and Recreation Commission tabled this case.

Recommendation:

Staff recommends that the Ramsey Park and Recreation Commission propose City Park names
for Municipal properties designated for park purposes.

Commission Action:

Based on discussion.

Review Checklist:

City Administrator X
City Attorney
City Engineer
Community Development Director X
Chief of Police
Finance Officer
Personnel Coordinator
Fire Chief
Merland Otto X

/jmt

Public Works Supervisor
Parks Coordinator
Planning & Zoning Commission
Park & Recreation Commission
Economic Development Commission
Airport Commission
Fire Board
Charter Commission
