Mr. Jeffrey N. Caine
November 7, 1989
Page 2

The proposed plat indicates closing the existing farm
entrance and moving it about 200' south. Mn/DOT would
not approve this location because the sight distance
would be very poor. We suggest that the proposed
north-south street from 172nd Lane N.W. be extended south
to serve the southerly four lots and thereby eliminating the
need for direct access to T.H. 47, This street could be tied
into T.H. 47 opposite 169th Avenue N.W., which goes to the
east.

The proposed development will impact DNR Wetland #323 W.
DNR and Lower Rum River Watershed permits will be required.
Existing drainage patterns and rates of runoff must be
maintained.

As you may know residential development is a very noise
sensitive land use. The City and the developer should be
aware that Mn/DOT will not provide any type of noise
abatement measures for new development adjacent to the
existing highway. We suggest that every effort be made in
design of the proposed plat to lessen the ~mpact this might
have on it.

If you have any questions in regard to this review, please contact Evan
Green at 593-8537. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Sincerely,

Asst, District Engineer

cc: Steve Keefe-Metro Council
/oland Anderson-Anoka County Surveyor
s, Anne L, Norris-City of Ramse)

J.T, Povich
R.
