Councilmember Kurak introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #03-09-259 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING FINDINGS OF FACT #0649 RELATING TO A <br />REQUEST FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FROM SHIRLEY WILSON FOR AN <br />OVERSIZED DETACHED ACCESSORY BUILDING ON PROPERTIES LOCATED <br />INSIDE THE METROPOLITAN URBAN SERVICE AREA. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Shirley Wilson, hereinafter referred to as the "Applicant," has properly <br />applied for a Conditional Use Permit for an oversized detached accessory building on properties <br />located inside the Metropolitan Urban Service Area (MUSA) on the property generally known as <br />5391 156th Lane NW and legally described as follows: <br /> <br />Lot 7, Block 1, Woodland Green, Anoka County, Minnesota <br /> <br />("Subject Property") <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA that the findings of fact relating <br />to the request are determined to be as follows: <br /> <br />That the Applicant appeared before the Planning Commission for a public hearing pursuant <br />to Section 9.03.04 of the Ramsey City Code on September 4, 2003, and that said public <br />hearing was properly advertised and that the minutes of said public hearing are hereby <br />incorporated by reference. <br /> <br />2. That the Subject Property is zoned R-1 Single Family Residential, and is located inside the <br /> Metropolitan Urban Service Area (MUSA). <br /> <br />That the Subject Property is bordered to the east, west, and south by properties zoned R-1 <br />Single Family Residential and to the north by property zoned Public/Quasi-Public (Boy Scout <br />Camp). <br /> <br />4. That the Subject Property is approximately 0.84 acres in size. <br /> <br />5. That City Code restricts the Subject Property to a total of 1,488 square feet of accessory <br /> building space. <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />That the Applicant has a primary garage totaling 528 square feet; the proposed accessory <br />building is 1,200 square feet in size; resulting in a total of 1,728 square feet of accessory <br />building space on the Subject Property. The net result is a 240 square foot overage in the <br />1,488 square foot limit. <br /> <br />That the Applicant has stated that the reason for the excess size on the proposed building is to <br />allow for the storage of private use vehicles and equipment that are currently stored outside <br />on the property. <br /> <br /> <br />
