Wetland Delineation Report <br />Ramsey Station <br />November 25, 2002 — Revised March 14, 2003 <br />WETLAND DELINEATION REPORT <br />Ramsey Station <br />Anoka County, Minnesota <br />November 25, 2002 <br />Revised March 14, 2003 <br />SITE DESCRIPTION: <br />North American Wetland Engineering, P.A. (NAWE) at the request of Ramsey Station <br />performed a wetland delineation of approximately 275 acres of property located in <br />Ramsey, Minnesota. The project site is located in Section 28, Township 32N and Range <br />25W. See Appendix A for the limits of the project area. The delineation was performed <br />October 29-31, 2002. <br />WETLAND DELINEATION PROCEDURES AND METHODS: <br />The presence of wetlands was determined with a procedure consistent with the definitions <br />and methods outlined in the Corps of Engineers (COE) 1987 Wetlands Delineation <br />Manual. <br />The wetland indicator status of observed plant species was determined using the National <br />List of Plant Species that Occur in Wetlands for US Fish and Wildlife Service Region 3. <br />Soil conditions were documented with the aid of Munsell color charts. Wetland types <br />were classified according to the methodologies in Wetlands of the United States (FWS <br />Circular No. 39; Shaw and Fredin 1971). <br />To determine the upland/wetland boundary, a modification of the Routine Onsite <br />Determination method was used. This procedure involved establishing multiple transects <br />throughout the project area. Team members walked 75 to 125-foot transects using <br />compasses from property line to property line. When potential wetlands were <br />encountered, a soil pit was dug and soils and hydrology were classified. Vegetation was <br />classified and wetland delineation flagging hung or pin flags inserted, depicting the <br />delineation line based upon the upland/wetland vegetation break. <br />Vegetation was primarily documented through the use of the COE's 50:20 rule. <br />Dominant wetland/upland vegetation was logged on the datasheets for the four stratums <br />present (tree, shrub, forb and vine). <br />Soils were classified through the use of the Munsell soil color charts. A 4-6 inch <br />diameter soil pit was dug to a depth of 18-24 inches, when possible. The presence or <br />absences of hydrological characteristics were noted as observed. <br />Wetland boundaries were flagged with pink survey ribbon/pin flags with the words <br />"WETLAND DELINEATION" printed on it. Each flag is labeled with a letter, which <br />indicates the name of the wetland in this report. A site map of the surveyed wetlands is <br />available in Appendix B. <br />Page 1 of 52 <br />
