Councilmember LeTourneau introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #13-05-085 RESOLUTION TO RECRUIT FOR AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, TO DIRECT STAFF TO PREPARE FOR AN UPCOMING DISCUSSION REGARDING POSSIBLE REVISIONS TO THE HIRING PROCESS AND TO BACK-FILL NECESSARY ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES WORK WHEREAS, staff recently conducted a recruitment for an Economic Development Manager; and WHEREAS , the finalist submitted a letter to the City Council resigning from the position which he was scheduled to begin on May 29, 2013; and WHEREAS , staff is requesting authorization to begin a new recruitment process for an Economic Development Manager; and WHEREAS , staff anticipates that the City Council may want to have a discussion regarding possible revisions to the hiring process; staff will be prepared for this discussion at the next regular meeting; and WHEREAS , staff is requesting to back-fill necessary administrative services work via hiring an intern to work on an as needed basis. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) Confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to do the following: Motion to recommend the City Council adopt resolution #13-05-085 to approve staff to begin a recruitment process for an Economic Development Manager, to Direct Staff to Prepare for an Upcoming Discussion Regarding Possible Revisions to the Hiring Process and to Back-fill Necessary Administrative Services Work. The motion for the adoption of the `foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Kuzma, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Strommen Councilmember LeTournuea Councilmember Kuzma Councilmember Backous Councilmember Riley
