Attached to this report are several photos which have been rendered to show what each of the options would
generally look like after being installed.
Recommendation:
For safety reasons, it is recommended that one of the three options be selected to provide a barrier to the roof of the
skyway. As population and activity increase in the ramp, this issue will just become more prevalent.
For architectural and aesthetic reasons, and the prominence of the ramp, the higher priced options are preferred.
Funding Source:
Currently, the station project has an identified contingency surplus for the City of $375,633. It is proposed that
these funds be used to fund the railing as part of the rail station skyway project.
Council Action:
Approve Option 1 and extend the concrete wall height to match wall to the west and add railing to match existing
on south and east side of ramp, as preferred by ramp architect, at a cost not to exceed $37,000.
Railing Option 1
Railing Option 2
Railing Option 2A
Attachments
Form Review
Inbox Reviewed By Date
Kurt Ulrich Kurt Ulrich 06/06/2013 05:50 PM
Form Started By: Jo Thieling Started On: 06/05/2013 09:36 AM
Final Approval Date: 06/06/2013
