CC Regular Session 4. 5.
Meeting Date: 06/11/2013
Submitted For: Grant Riemer By: Grant Riemer, Engineering/Public Works
Information
Title:
Accept Resident Petition to Consider the Installation of a 3-Way Stop Condition at Tiger St and 171 St Ave
Background:
On 5/30/2013 staff received a petition from residents in the neighborhood near the intersection of Tiger St and 171
st Ave. They are requesting the installation of a 3-Way stop condition at this intersection (see attached maps).
City Charter requires the Council to receive all petitions submitted at the next available meeting. Traffic related
requests such as this are typically forwarded to the Public Works Committee for review and comment prior to
coming before the City Council for final direction. The action item for this case is to accept the attached petition
and forward to the Public Works Committee for Consideration.
Notification:
The organizer of the petition will be notified that this item is being placed on the City Council consent agenda to
accept the petition. She has already been instructed on the process that is required to investigate the matter, and the
approximate timing to complete the analysis.
Observations/Alternatives:
The petition has 6 signatures from residents within 500 ft of the intersection as required by city policy. Staff has
reviewed the signatures and compared them to the Anoka County property records and they appear to match
signatures of the property owners as identified in the Anoka County system. There are additional properties in the
area that are not represented on the petition.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends accepting the attached petition and forwarding to the Public Works Committee for consideration.
Funding Source:
The investigation and analysis of this petition request will be accomplished utilizing staff time.
Council Action:
Motion to accept the attached petition, for the installation of a 3-way stop condition at the intersection of Tiger St
and 171st Ave and forward to the Public Works Committee for consideration.
Attachments
Petition
Location Map
Form Review
Inbox Reviewed By Date
Kurt Ulrich Grant Riemer 06/05/2013 04:17 PM
Grant Riemer (Originator) Grant Riemer 06/05/2013 04:26 PM
Kurt Ulrich Kurt Ulrich 06/06/2013 03:22 PM
Form Started By: Grant Riemer Started On: 06/05/2013
Final Approval Date: 06/06/2013
