ORDINANCE 089-
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY ~-.
STATE OF MINNESOTA

~NDL~LT TO CHAPTER 170 known as the Planning,
Signs Chapter of Chapter 170. of the City Code.

AN ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 170.06 to the-~2~.~Code and repealing
Section 170.035F of the City Code and re~a':i'i~ ~a~ce_. 88-4_.

The City of Ramsey ordains:

SECTION 1. AMENDMENT.

Chapter 170.06 of the City Code is amended as follows:

170.06

PARM AND OPEN SPACE DEDICATION

170.061 PURPOSE

The city Council recognizes it is essential to the
health, safety and welfare of the residents of Ramsey and
persons working in Ramsey, that the character and quality
of the environment be considered to be of major
importance in the planning and development of the City.
In this regard, the manner in ~hich land is developed and
used is of high priority. The prese~vation of land for
park, playground and public open space purposes as it
relates to the use and development of land for
residential, commercial/industrial purposes is essential
to the maintaining of a healthful and desirable
environment for all citizens of the City. The City must
not only provide these necessary amenities for our
citizens today, but also be insightful to the needs of
our ~utu. e citizens

it is recognized by the City Council that the demand for
park, playground and public open space within a
municipality is directly related to the density and
intensity of deve!opmenm permitted and allowed within any
given area. Urban type developments mean greater numbers
of people and higher demands for park, playground and
public open space. To disregard this principle is to
inevitably over-tax e>~isting facilities and thus,
diminish the quality of the environment for all.
