Case #5: Mississippi River Bridge Crossing Update <br /> <br />Anoka County has begun the condemnation of the Martin property. The <br />Economic Development Corn _nxission feels that it should be delayed until bridge <br />alignment and best use of property has been reviewed. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Greenberg and seconded by Commissioner Fults to <br />recommend to City Council to request that Anoka County delay the property <br />acquisition of the Martin property until the above items are reviewed. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Wagner, Commissioners Greenberg, <br />Fults, Kurak, Ippel, Hardin, and Muller. Voting No: None. Absent: <br />Commissioners Vevea and Gorecki. <br /> <br />Case #6: Park Dedication <br /> <br />Present City Code (Section 170.063) specifies park dedication fee to be 10% of fair <br />market value of the land. The Economic Development Commission would like to <br />see it at 5% in order to encourage business development. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Greenberg and seconded by Commissioner Muller to <br />recommend the 5% park dedication fee to City Council. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Wagner, Commissioners Greenberg, <br />Muller, Fults, Kurak, Ippel, and Hardin. Voting No: None. Absent: <br />Commissioners Gorecki and Vevea. <br /> <br />Case #7: Development Concerns <br /> <br />There are concerns in the costs incurred by the Developers particularly in the <br />area of engineering. The EDC asked Community Development Director Mark <br />Banwart to find out if it would be cost effective for the City to have a full-time, on- <br />staff engineer. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Kurak and seconded by Commissioner Hardin to <br />adjourn the regular meeting of the Economic Development Commission. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Wagner, Commissioners <br />Hardin, Greenberg, Fults, Muller and Ippel.
