Auditor's Report, Management Letler and City's Response: Mr. Kenneth Mollov of Pannell. Kerr Forster was presen, t and reviewed the Management Letter relating to the 19[~; audi~ with Council. Mr. 5'Iolio','. noted that as in the past, the turnover of personnel in the Finance Department together with other difficulties resulted in accounting records were not in order in 1988 and the accounting system is not operating anywhere nea~,- where it should be. Pro~ess is slow to correct the situation and the City needs to evaluate it's personnel needs. Finance Officer Ashley noted tha~ the City's response to the Management Letter dated August 2, 1988 indicates tha~ a number of steps are in place to correct deficiencies in the accounting system and accounting records. Case #5: Review Status Of Homes In The City's Municipal Water And Sewer District That Do Not Have Remote Readers Installed: The City requires that remote readers be installed with each meter for homes within the City's municipal water and sewer district. Many homes were finaled without an operative remote. The builders of those homes were notified and in most inst~ces, the builders have made arrangements for installation of operative remote readers. There are currently 5 homes that do no: have remote readers installed and the builders have nor responded to the City's notification to do so. City Staff recommends that the Ci.:y make arrangements for correcting the situation if the builders do not do so by September 5, 1989; the builder will be responsible for the cost to make the co~ec, tions and fa/lure to pay such charges within 30 days will result in a review of the contractor's license.
