DISCUSSION OF WEIGHT RESTRICTION ON <br /> ANOKA/CHAMPLIN BRIDGE <br /> By: Jack Ippel <br /> <br />THE <br /> <br />Case //2 <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Based on responses to the Business Retention and Expansion Survey, it is obvious that the weight <br />restriction on the Anoka/Champlin bridge is having a negative economic impact on Ramsey <br />businesses. <br /> <br />As an example, Grosslein Beverages fuel costs have risen between $1,000 and $1,800 per month <br />as well as vehicle wear and tear and employee labor costs that have risen. <br /> <br />Recommendations: <br /> <br />Request that Ramsey City Council direct staff to send a letter to the Minnesota Department of <br />Transportation requesting a lifting of the restrictions as much as possible. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />City Adminisu-ator <br />City Attorney <br />City Engineer <br />Community Development Director <br /> <br /> Chief of Police <br /> Finance Officer <br /> Planning & Zoning Comm. <br />X Economic Development Comm.
