Case #3 <br /> <br /> STAR CITY UPDATE <br /> By: Jack Ippel <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On July 22, 1986, the City of Rmmsey notified the Department of Trade & Economic Development <br />of the City's intent to participate in the Star City Program. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />Since 1986 a lot has been accomplished. Jack Ippel met with Dave Nelson at the Department of <br />Trade and Economic Development to review our progress. Each of the 11 elements in the Star City <br />Review Format was analyzed. Based on that review the following recommendations are being <br />made: <br /> <br />Element 1. Local Government Designation <br /> COMPLETE <br />Element 2. Local Development Corporation <br /> COMPLETE <br />Element 3. Community Profile - Need annual update & Filing <br /> COMPLETE <br /> <br />Element 4. Five Year Economic Development Plan <br />Element 5. One Year Work Plan <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Chairman Wagner and Commissioners Ippel and Greenberg meet to fine tune plans and bring to <br />January Commission meeting for adoption by the Economic Development Commission as it's <br />short and long term goals. <br /> <br />Element 6. Five Year Capital Improvement Plan <br /> <br />Commissioner Ippel to review with City Engineer Peter Raatildca, Parks Planner Mefland Otto, and <br />Finance Officer Sandra Ashley to gather necessary information to assemble into plan. <br /> <br />Element 7. Marketing Fact Book <br /> <br />Review format, request and approve bids. <br />information and prepare for typing. <br /> <br />Element 8. Video / Slide Tape <br /> COMPLETE <br /> <br />Element 9. Labor Survey <br /> COMPLETE <br /> <br />Public Relations subcommittee to edit assembled <br /> <br />Page //5 <br /> <br /> <br />
