Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #13-06-115 RESOLUTION TO HIRE A PATROL OFFICER WHEREAS, A t the April 23, 2013, City Council meeting, the City Council authorized staff to accept the resignation of the Patrol Captain, to begin a promotional process, and to recruit for a replacement patrol officer from the recent patrol officer recruitment file in order to fill the position left vacant by the promotional process; and WHEREAS, a recruitment process was conducted staff conducted 14 first interviews and 6 second interviews; and WHEREAS, Mr. James Bagne has been selected as the top candidate for the Patrol Officer position; and WHEREAS, staff has completed the necessary background checks and is recommending that Mr. James Bagne be hired as the City's new Patrol Officer, effective on or near July 1, 2013, at $22.09 per hour, which is step 1 of the 2013 wage scale; and WHEREAS, Mr. Bagne will be subject to a 1-year probationary period and all other personnel policies will apply normally. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) Confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to do the following: Motion to approve resolution #13-06-115, to hire Mr. James Bagne as the City's new Patrol Officer effective on or near July 1, 2013, at $22.09 per hour, which is step 1 of the 2013 wage. The motion for the adoption of the 'foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 26th day of June 2013.
