COMMISSI(3N BUb' INESS <br /> <br />Case #2: Accept Resignation Of Mr. Ron Erickson From Airport <br /> Commission: <br /> <br />The Commission consensus was to recommend that City Council accept Mr. Efickson's <br />resignation, advertise to fill the vacancy and forward a letter of appreciation to Mr. <br />Erickson. <br /> <br />Case #1: Airport Status Update: <br /> <br />Chaim~;m Ippel stated that FAA has indicated that the5' would like to delay responding to the <br />Gateway North Airport Environmental Information Document (EID) u:~til the County has <br />complet,,.,~ it's Environmental Impact Statemen,, (EIS) for Site t'. After further discussions <br />with key pzrsonnzJ a: J: AA, they have a~eed to ~nitiate work on their review and response. <br />to thc ElD. Mn/DOT has issued a finding of no significant ' ? .... <br /> ~m, ,~ in the ElD. <br /> <br />Chairman Ippel refewcd to the Meu'opolitan Airport Commissior,'s (MAC) adequacy study <br />which indic,Hcs that Gateway is imr~onant to the re~onal system. On that basis, Cl~airman <br />Ippel stated that he has been pursuing '~,IAC support for Gateway. Personnel at MAC have <br />indicated that consideration is being given to hiring consultants re, resem'ch the impact of <br />including Gateway and South St. Paul in MAC's reliever airport system. <br /> <br />Chairman lppel provided the Commission with an update regarding Ramsey's request to <br />M:tro Council for a Comprehensive Plan Amendment to expand the MUSA boundaries. <br />Chairman Ippel noted that Metro Council's response to the request for a MUSA expansion <br />includes discussion of Gatway North Airport and indicates th:,: Metro Council supports <br />public ownership of it. <br /> <br />Chairman Ippels stated that the City is also waiting for a determination from the Attorney <br />General as to wi:ether or not the Ramsey Airport Zoning Referendum was in conflict with <br />State Statute. The particular State Statute indicates that land use issues cannot be resolved <br />by referendum. <br /> <br />Co~,m2nissioner Greenberg disn'fissed himself from the meeting at 8:35 p.m. <br /> <br />AD JO URNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Emew and seconded by Commissioner Dahlin to adjourn the <br />regular Airport Commission meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Ippel, Commissioners Dahlin, Barnes, Chapman <br />and Emzu,. Voting No: None.
