ADMINISTRATOR'S GOALS AND OBJECTIVES <br /> For the year of 1989 <br /> <br />Community Relations: <br />· Foster a sense of pride in the community by giving presentations to community groups on <br /> city accomplishments. <br />· Recognize the needs of individuals by visiting with citizens and citizen groups about <br /> concerns. <br />· Respond promptly to complaints or requests by continuing to use the established complaint <br /> recording system. <br /> <br />Help the Governing Body Work Effectively: <br />· identify areas where policy direction is needed by organizing four major workshops per year <br /> with policy makers to review policy needs. <br />· Coordinate meetings and committees to make the best use of time by continuing to offer <br /> suggestions in ways to manage meetings and extend those suggestions to other commission <br /> chairs. <br />· Support Council and Commissions with current information by improving on information <br /> provided to Council and Commission by simplifying narratives and including a better quality <br /> of analysis. <br />· Process citizen requests by provide timely information to councilmembers to respond to <br /> citizen requests. <br /> <br />Manage the Delivery of Services: <br />· Define acceptable levels of service by evaluating the needs for service and the cost of service <br /> to assist Council in setting policy for levels of service. <br />· Establish expectations for quality of service by communicating to staff and public Council <br /> approved levels of service. <br />· Provide adequate staffing levels by annually preparing a staffing report to Council that <br /> recommends the proper level of staffing to accomplish the levels of service approved by <br /> Council. <br />· Measure work progress improve on reporting accomplishments as well as work not <br /> accomplished to Council. <br /> <br />Create a Favorable Work Environment: <br />· Foster the team spirit of a competent staff by communicating goals with staff and soliciting <br /> individual goals. <br />· Support coworkers and let them know that their effort is appreciated by recognizing the <br /> accomplishments of staff and extending compliments when appropriate. Also continue to <br /> monitor the work place for safety, comfort, and efficiency. <br />· Encourage favorable Council/Staff relations by conducting an annual team building workshop <br /> with Council and staff. <br /> <br />Project Follow-up and Scheduling: <br />· The position of project manager has been added to provide better project follow-up and <br /> scheduling, the goal of the City Administrator shall be to provide the proper leadership for <br /> the person filling this position and to assure the success of this effort. <br /> <br /> <br />
