present the viewpoint of the board on <br />matters pertaining to the fire safety <br />function of the City as it relates to <br />business under consideration by said <br />board or City Council. <br /> <br />Co <br /> <br />Review all City Council, Planning <br />Commission and other advisory board <br />minutes and inform the Fire Board of <br />matters relevant to the fire safety <br />function of the City. <br /> <br />do <br /> <br />Provide liaison wilh other <br />governmental and volunteer units in <br />matters relating to the fire safety <br />function of the City. <br /> <br />e. Prepare agendas for each board meeting. <br /> <br />2. A vice chairperson shall be appointed <br /> annually by the chairperson. The vice <br /> chairperson shall pedorm such duties as <br /> may be assigned by the chairperson and <br /> shall assume responsibilities of the chair <br /> in the absence of the chairperson. <br /> <br />3. Members of the board shall be appointed by <br /> a majority vote of the City Council for <br /> terms of three years, except that any <br /> person appointed to fill a vacancy <br /> occurring prior to the expiration of the <br /> term for which his predecessor was <br /> appointed shall be appointed only for the <br /> remainder of such term. <br /> <br />4. Members of the board shall be residents of <br /> the City of Ramsey while serving on the <br /> board and shall represent a broad range of <br /> interest in the fire safety function of the <br /> City. <br /> <br />resignation from office. Vacancies in the <br />board are to be filled by City Council <br />appointment with a majority vote. <br /> <br />7. Members shall serve without <br /> compensation. <br /> <br />RULES AND PROCEDURES <br />The board shall adopt such rules and <br />procedures not inconsistent with these <br />provisions as may be necessary for the <br />proper execution and conduct of business. <br /> <br />MEETINGS <br />Regular meetings shall be held at least <br />four times annually with date and time <br />determined by the board. Special meetings <br />may be called by the chairperson. All <br />meetings shall be public meetings and open <br />to the public. <br /> <br />EX-OFFICIO MEMBERS <br />The mayor may appoint a council member <br />of city staff person as an ex-officio <br />member of the board privileged to speak <br />on any matter without a vote, and the <br />ex-officio member shall provide a liaison <br />between the board and city council. <br /> <br />Section 2 <br />Chapter 80.07 Fire Safety chapter of the City <br />Code of Ramsey, Minnesota is amended as <br />follows: <br /> <br />80.07. FIRE BOARD. <br /> A Fire Board is established by <br /> section 10.042 of the City Code. <br /> <br />80o071. Is hereby REPEALED. <br /> <br />5. The board became effective on their first <br /> meeting on August 15, 1988. <br /> <br />6. Members may resign voluntarily or may <br /> be removed from office by a majority vote <br /> of the City Council. Three consecutive <br /> unexcused absences from duly called board <br /> meetings shall constitute automatic <br /> <br /> <br />
