City Council -2- February 28, 1989

proposes to take my best farmland, making the profitability
of the farm more difficult and the continuance of green acres
classification there uncertain.

In addition, the remainder of my land will be triangulated to
a shallow depth at Traprock Street making farming difficult
and severely limiting the future development potential of the
land remaining to me.

If the county cannot be persuaded to change its plans, I may
be forced to exercise my legal right and insist that the
county acquire all my land instead of just part. This is not
in Ramsey's interest. Hopefully, you will use what influence
you have to oblige the county to change its plans.

In summary, I'm asking you to cancel city permission for the
county to place a park on my land. If you cannot or' do not
choose to, I then ask you to get the county to move its north
acquisition line down to the north side of the gravel pit
(the overlaid trapezoidal tract) so that I can pursue devel-
opment along my full highway frontage.

Very truly yours,

James M. Martin
3740 Union Terrace Lane
Minneapolis, MN 55441

JMM:jk
