CASE # 5 <br /> <br />By: <br /> <br /> CONSIDER ACQUISITION <br /> OF TAX FORFEIT LANDS <br />Dave Hartley, City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The County of Anoka has submitted several parcels to the City for review and classification as <br />tax forleit lands, Chapter 282.01 Subd. I of Minnesota Statutes requires that the City approve <br />the classification and sale of tax forfeit parcels that lie within their jurisdiction. <br /> <br />Additionally, if the City desires to acquire any parcel lying within the boundaries of the City, it <br />may do so within 90 days of the request for classification and sale approval by filing a written <br />application with the County Board to withhold the parcel from sale. The County Board will then <br />withhold the parcel from sale for one year. <br /> <br />Note some of the parcels listed are slill within the repurchase period and will not be available <br />for sale until October 8, 1989. <br /> <br />Enclosed is information on each parcel. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />It is recommended that PIN 06-32-25-14-0009 be withheld from sale for use as a City park. <br />This property is approximately 1-1/2 blocks from Outlot B of Countryside Estates (a City park <br />which was inadvertantly used as a building site). <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />Approve the classification and sale of tax forfeit parcels as follows: <br /> <br />PIN <br />PIN <br />PIN <br /> <br />23-32-25-22-0009 <br />28-32-25-31-0002 <br />08-32-25-32-0021 <br /> <br />-and- <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />Approve classification and request that the Anoka County Board withhold from sale <br />PIN 06-32-25-14-0009 for public purpose as a municipal park. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />City Administrator X <br />City Attorney X <br />City Engineer <br />Community Development Director <br /> <br />Chief of Police <br />Finance Officer <br />Public Works Superintendent <br />City Assessor <br /> <br /> <br />
