MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />Dave Hadley, City Administrator <br /> <br />Merle Mevissen, Public Works Superintendent <br /> <br />Request to purchase trailer <br /> <br />April 18, 1989 <br /> <br />In 1988 we purchased a front mount mower unit for the Park Department but we did not get a <br />trailer to haul the unil from one park to another. The thought at that time was to either build a <br />trailer or buy one at a later date. <br /> <br />I have been pricing trailers from dealers to carry this unit and they cost from $2,000.00 to <br />$3,000.00. Trailer King on the western border of Ramsey on Highway #10 sells car haulers <br />and utility and snowmobile trailers. The car hauler trailer they have would do the job nicely, <br />as it includes ramps, 'is long enough to carry extra gasoline and hand mowing equipment, and <br />could be used to haul other things as well. The price is about $1,100.00 We did not budget for <br />this item, but we are about $2,500.00 below budget on the truck and about $800.00 below <br />budget on lhe asphalt roller. <br /> <br />I recommend purchasing a trailer from Trailer King with the excess funds in the capital <br />equipment budget for an amount not to exceed $1,100.00. <br /> <br />MM:pjc <br /> <br /> <br />
