<br />Councilmember Tossey introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #13-06-115 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO HIRE A PATROL OFFICER <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />A t the April 23, 2013, City Council meeting, the City Council <br /> <br />authorized staff to accept the resignation of the Patrol Captain, to begin a promotional <br />process, and to recruit for a replacement patrol officer from the recent patrol officer <br />recruitment file in order to fill the position left vacant by the promotional process; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> a recruitment process was conducted staff conducted 14 first <br />interviews and 6 second interviews; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />Mr. James Bagne has been selected as the top candidate for the <br /> <br />Patrol Officer position; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> staff has completed the necessary background checks and is <br />recommending that Mr. James Bagne be hired as the City’s new Patrol Officer, effective <br />on or near July 1, 2013, at $22.09 per hour, which is step 1 of the 2013 wage scale; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />Mr. Bagne will be subject to a 1-year probationary period and all <br /> <br />other personnel policies will apply normally. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) Confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to do the following: <br /> <br />Motion to approve resolution #13-06-115, to hire Mr. James Bagne as the City’s <br />new Patrol Officer effective on or near July 1, 2013, at $22.09 per hour, which is <br />step 1 of the 2013 wage. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the `foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councilmember Kuzma, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor <br />thereof: <br /> <br /> Mayor Strommen <br /> Councilmember Tosey <br /> Councilmember Kuzma <br /> Councilmember LeTourneau <br /> Councilmember Riley <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br />
