extends over public property. <br /> <br />23. "Permanent Sign" is any sign which is not a temporary sign. <br /> <br />24. "Roof Sign" means any sign erected upon the roof of a <br />structure to which it is affixed. <br /> <br />25. "Roofline" is defined as the top line of the coping; or, <br />when the building has a pitched roof, as the intersection of the <br />outside wall with the roof. <br /> <br />26. "Sign" means any letter, word or symbol, device, poster, <br />picture, statuary, reading matter, or representation in the <br />nature of an advertisement, announcement, message or visual <br />communication, whether painted, posted, printed, affixed or <br />constructed, which is displayed outdoors for informational or <br />communicative purposes. <br /> <br />27. "Sign Area" means that area within the marginal lines of the <br />surface which bears the advertisement, or in the case of <br />messages, figures or symbols attached directly to any part of a <br />building, that area which is included im the smallest rectangle <br />which can be made to circumscribe the message, figure or symbol <br />displayed thereon. The stipulated maximum sign area for a free <br />standing sign refers to a ~ingle facing. <br /> <br />28. "Street Frontage" refers to the proximity of a parcel of <br />land to one (1) or more streets. An interior lot has one (1) <br />street frontage and a corner lot has two (2) such frontages. <br /> <br />29. "Temporary Sign" means a sign which is erected or displayed <br />for a limited period of time. Such temporary signs shall <br />include, but not be limited to, those listed in Section 170.053P <br />and pennants, banners, paper and other similar types of signs. <br /> <br />30. "Wall Sign" means any sign which is affixed to a wall of any <br />building. <br /> <br />31. "Window Sign" means a sign placed on a window, or any sign <br />placed within a building for the purpose of being visible from <br />the public right-of-way. <br /> <br />GENERAL PROVISIONS <br /> <br />The following provisions 170.053A- I70.053Q shall apply in all <br />districts. <br /> <br />ADDILES S SIGN <br /> <br />One (1) address sign shall be required per building in all <br />districts. <br /> <br />BENCH SIGNS <br /> <br /> <br />
