RESOLUTION #89-05- RESOLUTION DECLARING CITY'S INTENT TO IMPLEMENT ONE IN TEN ZONING CALCULATED ON THE BASIS OF FOUR UNITS IN FORTY ACRES WITHIN THE CITY'S NON-SEWERED AREA WHEREAS, a portion of the City of Ramsey is currently within the 1990 Metropolitan Urban Service Area and is partially served by sanitary sewer, and WHEREAS, the city is experiencing significant growth within the urban and rural areas of the city, and WHEREAS, the City desires to encourage development within the urban service area of the city in order to protect the health, safety, and welfare of its citizens and to protect the natural resources of the city and, WHEREAS, The city needs to accommodate such development by expanding the Metropolitan Urban Service Area, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF T~E CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That in accordance with Metropolitan Council policy for development in the Rural Service Area, the City intends to adopt an ordinance subject to the provisions of the City Charter and City Ordinances which implements "four in forty" acre zoning for the rural area of the City. 2) That city staff is directed to prepare an ordinance for the adoption process such that the ordinance can be implemented no later than January 1, 1990. That the city Administrator shall forthwith notify landowners of the City's intent to adopt such an ordinance, and schedule a public information meeting for interested landowners. 4) That the City Administrator shall transmit a copy of this resolution to Metropolitan Council indicating the City's intent. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following were absent:
