August 22, 2013
Crystal Paumen, Associate Planner
City of Anoka
2015 First Avenue North
Anoka, MN 55303-2270
RE: South Ferry Street Area Comprehensive Plan Amendment (City of Anoka)
Crystal:
The City of Ramsey has reviewed your Comprehensive Plan Amendments for the South Ferry
Street Area sent August 12, 2013. The City of Ramsey provides the following comments:
Regional transportation continues to be a priority for the City of Ramsey to address current
levels of service, future forecasts, safety, and mobility. The City of Ramsey desires to continue
to work with the City of Anoka to solve future design and capacity considerations. We are
appreciative of the current activities related to joint efforts along Highway 10.
The City of Ramsey feels there are already existing issues with capacity, safety, and level of
service on the regional roadway system and that future household, population, and
employment forecasts will further impact these factors. Improvements are necessary to
increase capacity and safety, thus bringing the system to an acceptable level of service.
The City of Ramsey supports the Comprehensive Plan Amendment, provided that the
communities continue to work collaboratively to meet the regional transportation needs of the
area.
Sincerely,
CITY OF RAMSEY
Tim Gladhill
Development Services Manager
