<br />Councilmember Tossey introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #13-08-133 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO CONTINUE EFFORTS TOWARDS A SHARED FIRE SERVICE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />the Shared Fire Service Study Group, known as the Rum River Regional <br />Fire Study Group includes the cities of Bethel, Nowthen, Oak Grove, Ramsey and St Francis has <br />held scheduled meetings on a regular basis since October of 2011; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />the City of Ramsey had the following members participate in the Shared Fire <br />Service Study Group; Mayor Strommen, Fire Chief Dean Kapler, City Administrator Kurt Ulrich <br />and Firefighter Shane Swedeen and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />the Shared Fire Service Study Group presented a committee report to all <br />communities involved on April 12, 2012 in Ramsey MN; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />all cities mutually adopted a resolution to continue efforts towards a shared <br />fire service and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />the “Rum River Regional Fire” Study group applied for and received a grant <br />for a feasibility study for shared or cooperative fire and emergency services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the feasibility study was completed and the results were presented to a <br />meeting of the five city councils on June 26th, 2013, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the City of Ramsey has reviewed the opportunities and issues identified in <br />the feasibility study, and conclude that there appears to be opportunity to provide the same or <br />better fire related services at a good value to all tax payers involved <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />1)That the Ramsey City Council hereby reaffirms the grant of Cross Access and <br />Maintenance License Agreement to Ramsey JR Partners, LLC dated July 15, 2005. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />LeTourneau, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Councilmember Tossey <br /> Councilmember LeTourneau <br /> Councilmember Kuzma <br /> Councilmember Backous <br /> Councilmember Johns <br /> <br />
