CC Regular Session 4. 14. <br />Meeting Date: 09/24/2013 <br />By: Colleen Lasher, Administrative <br />Services <br />Information <br />Title <br />Report from the Personnel Committee — September 17, 2013 <br />Ratify the recommendations of the Personnel Committee with the following actions: <br />1. Adopt Resolution #13-09-169 removing Bruce Westby from probation and retaining him as the City's full-time, <br />regular City Engineer; and <br />2. Adopt Resolution #13-09-170 reclassifying the current IT Specialist to an IT Coordinator effective October 12, <br />2013; and <br />3. Adopt Resolution #13-09-171 accepting the resignation of the Fire Marshal. <br />Background: <br />The Personnel Committee met on September 17, 2013 to consider the following three cases: <br />Case 1 of 3 : Resolution to End the City Engineer's Probation <br />Case 2 of 3: Resolution to Reclassify the IT Specialist to an IT Coordinator <br />Case 3 of 3: Resolution to Accept the Fire Marshal's Resignation <br />Notification: <br />The Personnel Committee agenda, minutes and resolutions are attached. <br />Recommendation: <br />Case 1 of 3: The Personnel Committee motioned to remove Mr. Bruce Westby from probation and retain him as the <br />City's full-time regular City Engineer. <br />Case 2 of 3: The Personnel Committee motioned to reclassify the current IT Specialist to an IT Coordinator at <br />$27.03 per hour, effective October 12, 2013, and to waive the 6-month probationary period. <br />Case 3 of 3: The Personnel committee motioned to accept the Fire Marshal's resignation. <br />Funding Source: <br />Case 1 of 3: There are no additional funds required to remove Mr. Westby from probation. <br />Case 2 of 3: The additional funding required to reclassify this position is already within the 2013 budget and would <br />not exceed an additional $2906; the 2014 funding has been accounted for in the preliminary 2014 budget which has <br />been estimated at an additional $12,591 (wages, taxes, benefits) over amount of funding required if the position <br />were not reclassified. <br />Case 3 of 3: There is no funding required to accept the Fire Marshal's resignation. <br />Action: <br />
