The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, <br />at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: <br />Mayor Pro tem Randy Backous <br />Councilmember Jill Johns <br />Councilmember Mark Kuzma <br />Councilmember John LeTourneau <br />Councilmember Chris Riley <br />Councilmember Jason Tossey <br />Member Absent: Mayor Sarah Strommen <br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />Also Present: Acting City Administrator Diana Lund <br />Police Captain Jeff Katers <br />Parks and Assistant Public Works Superintendent Mark Riverblood <br />Public Works Superintendent Grant Riemer <br />Human Resources Manager Colleen Lasher <br />Development Services Manager Timothy Gladhill <br />City Engineer Bruce Westby <br />Associate Planner/Environmental Coordinator Chris Anderson <br />Assistant to the City Administrator Patrick Brama <br />City Attorney Joe Langel <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Pro tem Backous called the City Council Work Session to order at 5:33 p.m. and <br />welcomed newly elected Councilmember Johns. He also welcomed Environmental Policy <br />Boardmembers. <br />2. TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br />2.01: Discussion Regarding the Economic Development Manager Recruitment <br />Human Resources Manager Lasher reviewed staffs meeting with Sharon Klumpp of Springsted, <br />Inc. to discuss the search process for the Economic Development Manager. She indicated the <br />recommendation of Springsted, Inc. is to increase the pay range to at least $90,000. She <br />presented the staff report and recommendation for an 8% increase to bring the range up to <br />$73,173 to $91,465, in a range similar to Police Captain or Park Superintendent. The midpoint <br />of the recommended range is $82,319 and hiring expectations would be around the midpoint if <br />warranted based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. Human Resources Manager <br />Lasher requested City Council consensus on the salary range so the position can be posted <br />City Council Work Session / August 13, 2013 <br />Page 1 of 9 <br />
