Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #89-07- RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING TIMETABLE FOR 1990 BUDGET PREPARATION WHEREAS, on June 29, 1989 the City of Ramsey received interim instructions from the Minnesota Department of Revenue for the implementation of laws relating to the preparation of lhe City's budget and the filing of property tax levies; and WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City of Ramsey to meet the guidelines provided by the Minnesota Department of Revenue entitled "Summary of Property Tax Developments and Instructions to Cities". NOW 'I'HEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: CITY OF 1 ) That the following calendar of events shall govern the preparation of the City of Ramsey's 1990 budget: July 1 24 Input from boards and commissions will be solicited as guidance for the preparation of the City's 1990 budget. July 1 24 Department heads will prepare budget requests and documentation supporting such requests. August 1 City will certify to Anoka County a proposed property tax levy. Augusl 9 - 21 Budget Committee will review the draft budget and prepare recommendations for the City Council. August 21 Advertisement for hearing will be submitted to the Anoka County Union for publication on August 25, 1989 to include all of the information required by the interim regulations for "Truth in Taxation" requirements for cities with populations over 2,500. September 4 At 7:00 p.m. the City Council will hold a public hearing on the proposed 1990 budget. September 4 - 26 City Council will review the draft budget and make final modification prior to adoption. Prior to October i City of Ramsey shall certify the final property tax levy to Anoka County. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
