CASE #10:

DISCUSS OPTIONS FOR IMPLEMENTING
4 PER 40 ACRE DENSITY ZONING
By: Dave Hartley, City Administrator

Background:

On June 13, 1989 the City Council adopted a resolution declaring its intent to implement "1 in
10" zoning for the Rural Residential Area of the City of Ramsey calculated on the basis of 40
acre parcels. On Thursday, July 6, 1989 a subcommittee of the Metropolitan Council will
receive a report prepared by Met Council staff which recommends approval of the expansion of
the Cily's Municipal Urban Service Area (MUSA) by 405 acres. At that same meeting,
discussions will be held regarding the implementation of the "4 in 40" zoning.

I would like to take a few minutes to discuss the various options with the City Council in addition
to possible scheduling of events. I hope to have outlines and schedules by the time of the meeting
for discussion purposes.

Recommendation:

Council action will be to discuss options for implementing 4 per 40 a. cre density zoning.

Review Chec,;list:

City Administrator _ X
City Attorney
City Engineer X,
Community Development Director

Chief of Police
Finance Officer
Public Works Supervisor
Other
