Banwart, Community Development Director <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On June 1, 1989, Minnesota Governor Rudy Purpich signed into law Minnesota Statutes <br />115A.921: City or Town Authority. This Statute which becomes law effective July 1, 1989, <br />aulhorizes cities which have mixed municipal solid waste facilities located in their boundaries <br />to increase the cubic yard or equivalent fee from thirty five cents ($.35) to One Dollar <br />($1.00) per cubic yard. Twenty five cents ($.25) per cubic yard must be used on solid waste <br />abatement activities while the remaining amount can be placed in the city's general revenue <br />fund lot use as the cily so chooses. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends the adoption of the amendment to Chapter 130.01 known as the Solid Waste <br />Depositing Fee Chapler of the City Code. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to adopt/not adopt Ordinance #89- which amends Section One, Subsection Three of <br />Section 130.10.2 of the Ramsey City Code; known as the Solid Waste Depositing Fee Chapter of <br />the City Code. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />City Administrator X <br />City Attorney X <br />City Engineer <br />Community Development Director X <br /> <br />Chief of Police <br />Finance Officer <br />Planning & Zoning Commission <br />Park & Recrea[ion Commission <br /> <br /> <br />
