Hakanson <br />Anderson <br />Assoc.,inc. <br /> <br />Engineers, Surveyors & <br />Landscape Architects <br /> <br />May 3, 1988 <br /> <br />Mr. Gerald Zimmerman <br />Ramsey Planning & Zoning Commission <br />City of'Ramsey <br />15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W. <br />Ramses, MN 55303 <br /> <br />Re: <br /> <br />Impacts of Extending Utilities to Outlot B, <br />Rum Acres Estates <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Zimmerman: <br /> <br />As requested at your April 12, 1988 Planning and Zoning Commission <br />meeting, we have reviewed the impacts of extending utilities to <br />Outlot B, Rum Acres Estates. <br /> <br />In review of the ground water elevations in the area, the elevation <br />of ground water along Roanoke Street was approximately 852.0 in <br />1987 and the elevation of the ground water along Waco Street in <br />River's Bend was approximately 854.0 in 1984. Since Outlot B lies <br />between these areas and the Anoka Soils Survey indicates the area <br />is ~composed of granular soils with a permeability of 6-20 in/hour, <br />we would conclude that the ground water at Outlot B would be at the <br />same approximate elevation. <br /> <br />The proposed sewer and x~ater e>:tensicns would commenc~ at 149tk <br />Avenue and Waco Street. The existing invert of the sanitary sewer <br />at 149th and Waco Street is at approximately elevation 872 and <br />would increase as it is extended north to Outlot B. The proposed <br />watermain would be installed seven and one-half feet below the <br />proposed streets in Outlot B which vary from elevation 885 to <br />elevation 897. Since the estimated watertable elevation of 854 is <br />18 feet below the proposed utilities, there will be no need for <br />dewatering. Therefore, the installation of utilities will not <br />impact the surrounding well and ground water levels. <br /> <br />ZZ2.
