PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
PUBLIC HEARING
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

The Ramsey Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday,
May 2, 1989 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey,
Minnesota regarding Mr. Robert Wojcik and Mr. Louis Wojcik's request for a conditional
use permit to expand Ramsey Auto Sales.

Members Present:

Mr. Gerald Zimmerman, Chairman
Mr. Ten'), Hendriksen
Mr. Charles LaDue
Mr. Michael TerD,'

Also Present:

Community Development Director Mark Banwart
Mr. Merland Otto/Hakanson Anderson Associates

Mem~rs Absent:

Mr. Roy Shumway
Mr. Jim Holm

CALL TO ORDER

Chairman 7_Jmmerman called the public hearing to order at 7:50 p.m.

CITIZEN INPUT

Mr. Louis Wojcik was present.

Dr. Hartman - Stated that he is part owner of the Anoka Pet Hospital and he is concerned
with the proposed expansion of Ramsey Autos adjacent to his business because of the way
in which the Wojcik's operated their business when they were located on the east side of
Cry. Rd. #56. The Wojcik's have an inventoD, of mostly low quality cars; they are
encroaching on the lot for which they have not yet received approval for expansion.
Another problem is that during off business hours, the Wojcik block the entrances to their
car lot; off hours customers park in the Hwy. gl0 right-of-way or the Anoka West Pet
Hospital parking lot and walk over to the car lot. If the expansion is allowed, the car lot
should be up~aded to presentable. Many of the cars on the lo: are not operable. Inquired
as to how the Wojcik's can expand onto the third lot prior to obtaining approval.

Ms. Frolik explained that the Wojcik's have sold their property on the east side of Cry. Rd.
#56 to Holiday and it must be vacated; when approached by Louis Wojcik for a conditional
use permit to expand the lot on the west side of#56, she gave verbal approval to store the
cars on the subject lot until the City makes a determination on the request for the conditional
use perrMt~

Commissioner Hendriksen expressed concern with the impact to area drainage caused by
the additional development.

Planning & Zoning PubSc Hear~g/May 2, 1989
Page 1 of 2
