23. Air Pollution, Dust~ Noise

Dust, air and noise impacts will occur during construction.
These will be minimized through contract requirements placed
on the contractor which will limit hours and days of operation
to be the least disruptive to residents, requiring watering
of soil, minimizing areas of earth exposure to the extent
practicable for grading, and reestablishing turf as soon as
possible. Specific erosion control measures will similarly
be required during construction to minimize potential for
sedimentation and siltation of wetlands or ponds.

Noise impacts will be those typically associated with
construction activity. Other than six homes which are within
close proximity to the road right-of-way, no sensitive
receptors of noise are near the construction areas.

The long term impacts on air quality should be positive since
the road alignment will provide a more direct east-west route
than is currently available. Thus, vehicle time on community
roads should be reduced. Noise associated with traffic levels
at a 40 mph design speed is typically within 50-60 dba which
is an acceptable level. No long term significant impacts are
anticipated due to air pollution, dust or noise.

xvii
