SECTION 10.86 APPLICATIONS AND APPEALS Seclion 10.86.1. ]:orm. Each application and appeal shall be in writing and shall contain such information as hereinafter prescribed. Section 10.86.2. Application for Permission to Use Alternate Materials and Methods of ~..Q,11glllg, lil2~ An application for permission to use alternate materials or methods of construction shall first be submitted to the Building Official for his/her approval or denial and shall include: The name and address of the applicant, and ff the applicant is octing as agent for another, the name and address of the person, firm, or corporation for whom the applicant is agent. ' · (ii). A description of the type of building or structure and the work to be performed for which permission to use alternate materials or methods is requested. (iii) A description of the use and occupancy of the building or structure. (iv) A citation to the controlling section or sections of the Uniform Building Code which specify the materials or methods for which alternates are requested. (v) A description of the alternate materials or methods of construction proposed to be used. (vi) If a test is required by the Building Official pursuant to Sections 106 and 107 of the Building Code, a report from an approved agency which has tested the proposed alternate materials or methods of construction. Such report shall include the findings, conclusions, and recommendations, if any, of the approved agency. The decision of the Building Official shall be in writing and shall be served upon the applicant by mail. An applicant who is dissatisfied with a decision of the Building Official may thereupon appeal to the Board as hereinafter provided. ' Section 10.86.3. Application for Interpretation of the Building Code. Any person who desires an interpretation of the Building Code shall first submit a written request for an - interpretation:to the Building-Official~ Such request shall include: (i) The name and ad~es~' of ~e' apt~ii-can~} and if the applicant is acting as agent for another, the name and address of the person, fn'm or corporation for Whom the applicant is agent (iii) A description of the type of building or structure and the specific phase of the work to be performed ·which gives rise to the request for.an interpretation. A citation to the section or sections of thc Building Code fOr which an interpretation is requested. An applicant who is dissatisfied with an interpretation of the Building Official may thereupon appeal to the Board as hereinafter provided.
