CASE # 1 <br /> <br /> 1990 BUDGET <br />By: David Hartley, City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The Council's Budget Committee met with staff and reviewed 1990 budget <br />requests on September 6, 11, 13, 18 and 19, 1989. On September 21, 1989 <br />the City Council held a public hearing on the 1990 Budget and Property <br />Tax Levy. A presentation was made on the proposed Property Tax Levy, <br />the General Fund Budget and Revenues, Expenditures, Other Financing Sources <br />(Uses). Questions, answers and comments followed. <br /> <br />Following the public hearing, the Council adopted the 1990 Property Tax <br />Levy. The adoption of the 1990 General Fund Budget was scheduled for <br />September 26, 1989, the next regularly scheduled council meeting. <br /> <br />Observation: <br /> <br />After adoption of the budget, the City must publish a summary budget <br />statement in the City's official newspaper. Due to uncertainty over the <br />ramifications of a possible special session of the legislature, the <br />City should hold publication (and save the cost of same) until the <br />effects are known. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />The Council's Budget Committee and staff recommend adoption of the General <br />Fund Budget for 1990 as presented and discussed at the Public Hearing. <br /> <br />COUNCIL ACTION: <br /> <br />Motion to adopt/not adopt Resolution #89-09- <br />City of Ramsey's 1990 General Fund Budget. <br /> <br />__ to approve the <br /> <br />Review checklist: <br /> <br />City Administrator X <br />City Attorney <br />City Engineer <br />Community Development Director <br /> <br />Chief of Police <br />Finance Officer X <br />Public Works Supervisor <br />Other <br /> <br /> <br />
