The last day for certifying the payable 1990 PROPOSED property tax
levy to the County Auditor is November 1~, 1989; therefore, I would
like to suggest the following schedule:

Monday

Tuesday

Friday

Monday

Tuesday

10/30/89 Mail Public Hearing Notice to the Star-Tribune

10/31/89 Deliver Public Hearing Notice to The Union

11/03/89 Public Hearing Notice to be published
in the Union.

11/06/89 Public Hearing Notice to be published
in the "StarTribune"
Note - this publication is to meet requirements
of the Dept. of Revenue - and a copy of same must
be attached to the final levy to the county auditor and
and mail a copy of same to the Commissioner of
Revenue.

11/15/89 Public Hearing @ 7:00 p.m.

The Public Hearing Notice must include the following:

Total Amount Proposed: $1,381,931
1990 proposed increase over 1989 taxes = 17.7%

However, the notice may also now include:

This increase is not necessarily due to a decision by the
city council to increase spending. The state of Minnesota
has shifted aid from cities to school districts, and part
of the increase may be due to a decrease in state aid to
the City of Ramsey.

Hopefully we can discuss the new calendar this evening.
