Case #~ <br /> <br />ADOPT CITY ORDINANCE CHANGING TIlE NAME OF 138TH AVENUE N.W. <br />AND RIVERDALE ROAD N.W. TO FRONT STREET N.W. <br /> By: Mark S. Banwart, Community Development Director <br /> <br />Background/Observations: <br /> <br />Since 1987 thc City has been actively involved in the development of a street running parallel to <br />and South of Highway #10. The street name is currently either 138th Avenue N.W. or Front <br />Street N.W. In addition, there is recent commercial construction going on at Riverdale Road <br />located in Alpaca Estates. Riverdale Road N.W. is in the same alignment as Front Street. <br /> <br />From time to time, residents and visitors alike have been confused with the street names of Front <br />Street N.W. and 138th Avenue N.W. <br /> <br />Recommendations: <br /> <br />In consideration that this road runs parallel to Highway #10 and that the street naming system of <br />labeling streets by numbers would require that this street would almost continuously require a new <br />street name for the same physical street; Staff recommends that the entirety of this road alignment <br />South of and parallel to Highway #10 have its name changed to Front Street N.W. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to adopt/not adopt Ordinance #89- : AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE <br />NAME OF 138TH AVENUE N.W.
