to <br /> <br />The collection of flees, shrubs, other vegetation and associated natural <br />features that make up the city tree canopy and its growing zone. <br /> <br />Tree Protection Area <br /> <br />Any portion of a site wherein are located existing trees which are proposed <br />to be retained in order to comply with the requirements of this ordinance. <br />The tree protection area shall include no less than the total area beneath the <br />tree canopy as defined by the dripline of the tree or group of trees <br />collectively. <br /> <br />Crown <br /> <br />The leaves and branches of a tree or shrub; the upper portion of a tree from <br />the lowest branch on the trunk to the top <br /> <br />Abuse <br /> <br />Any action that does not follow good arboricultural practices. Abuse also <br />includes damage inflicted upon roots by machinery, changing the natural <br />grade above the root system or around the trunk, changing drainage patterns <br />around the tree, destruction of the natural shape of the tree or any action <br />which causes infection, infestation or decay. <br /> <br />u. Designee <br /> <br />The person designated by the EPTP to carry out specific duties outlined in <br />this chapter. <br /> <br />v. Developer <br /> <br />The owner of the land or person who is the applicant for alteration of the <br />land. <br /> <br />w. Development Regulations <br /> <br />The adopted regulations provided for the subdivision and development of <br />real property within the City of Ramsey, as amended fi'om time to time by <br />the Mayor and City Council of the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Tree Diameter <br /> <br />Wherever this term is used in reference to the measurement of a tree it shall <br />mean a tree's trunk as measured 4.5 feet above the ground. <br /> <br />Dripline <br /> <br />An imaginm3, vertical line which extends from the outerlnost branches of a <br />tree's canopy to the ground. <br /> <br />Page 19 of 24 <br /> <br /> <br />
