UPDATE ON RE-LEAF GRANT

Ms. Frolik stated that Mr. Bacon and Mr. Boos have been very busy with the Firewise Grant
application for the Traprock Commons neighborhood. As a result, there has not been a great
deal of time to work on the Re-Leaf grant. It was requested that Mr. Bacon be present at the
January 6 EPTF meeting to discuss the Re-Leaf grant.

UPDATE ON RECOMMENDED TREES E-Z TABLE

Ms. Connolly stated that she would continue to work with Sarah Strommen and Mark Boos on
the appendix to the tree list that calls out setbacks and other bulk or performance standards. The
appendix draft should be available for review some time in January.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

Motion by Committee Member Max and seconded by Committee Member Connolly to approve
the agenda.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chaiperson McDilda, Committee Members Max, Strommen,
Connolly, Dvorak, Sitz. Voting No: None. Absent: Committee Members Cook, Marshall and
Reeve.

REVIEW SCOPE OF GREENWAY CORRIDOR GRANT

Mark Boos introduced Rich Biske, specialist with the Anoka Conservation District. Mr. Boos
recalled that the City was awarded a Greenway Corridor Grant from DNR. Part of the scope of
that grant is to perform a natural resource assessment for the entire City. Rich Biske noted that
this is a multi-part project that includes a mapping of the land cover over the entire City.
Basically, the inventory of natural resources associated with the Greenway Corridor grant will
identify areas of tree cover; but it will not provide a tree census and that is something that could
be achieved with the Releaf Grant.

RELEAF GRANT

Upon inquiry, Mr. Boos was informed that the City needs a tree census in addition to the tree
cover map. The census will serve as a baseline when the City reviews development plans and
assesses what will be preserved and what will be lost.

Mr. Biske suggeste, d that Ramsey may want to consider having development plans reviewed by
an Environmental Committee as well as the Planning Commission and City Council.

Ms. Frolik was directed to add an item to the parking lot list: reference the Metro Greenway
Corridor land cover overlay map in the tree ordinance.
